My wife and were both getting a strange message from AIM last week telling us that we were currently logged on in 2 places. We knew that could not be true so we took it as an indication that our accounts had been compromised and someone was hijacking our Instant Messages. After changing our passwords the message stopped coming up. I believe that is a confirmation that our accounts had indeed been compromised.
Today when Ed Daniel sent me the link to Secway I was thrilled. Now we can securely exchange instant messages with any of the popular IM tools.
Until Microsoft and AIM make it simple to acquire and install a personal digital certificate and add it to the IM tools this may be our best alternative.
