I received an Email today from a friend who makes his living as the security guru at a University.  His message was digitally signed.  I have been looking for a way to do that, but last time I looked at getting a personal certificate it was a big hassle.  Now it is stupid simple and free from ipsCA.org.  They offer a free personal email singing certificate at http://certs.ipsca.com/CSB1Free/.  The process is as close to automated as you could want.  When it's done you can fire up outlook and start sending your signed Emails.
