Today marks a refinement in the colors of the Rainbow. Several of the core builders of the product are meeting in London face to face for the very first time. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed Daniel at the PDC last October, but I have not met any of the core Rainbow gang outside of Email and MSN Messenger. I so badly wanted to be at this meeting in person as these guys are are great friends of mine. Any minute now I expect to see them online and we will try Skype as a way to patch me in for audio chat.
Last night I had the pleasure of a Skype chat with Daniel Elbash. He has been reading up on Whidbey and playing with some design ideas. He is hoping to have a server up today that we can use to play and experiment on with the alpha bits. The general consensus is that we want to make a significant effort with Rainbow 2.0 to have the best Whidbey sample code and product base available. Some of us are hoping and pushing for the core of Rainbow 2.0 to be ready by June. I really want to hit the code hard in Beta 1 and then keep it current as the subsequent beta's are released.
Stay tuned....The colors of the Rainbow will be more vivid with the coming version.
