For those who are friends or family or just plain curious we are moving to Germany in a couple of weeks.  I have setup a new website and blog for sharing stories and photos about our life and experiences.  It is a family site and several of us will be making use of it.  If you are curious you can check out the new blog at: http://www.isaksonfamily.net/Blogs/tabid/53/BlogID/5/Default.aspx

I now have 3 blogs.  Option Strict for my techie life, the new family blog, and my Jesus blog for sharing thoughts on the Church and spiritual life.  I decided to aggregate all of my blogs on a single page with a single feed over on the new family site for anyone who cares to follow all 3 in one place.

Come see us in Germany.  We look forward to making new friends and seeing old ones while we are there.

A few years ago I become aware of the fact that it is truly amazing how long our Creator allows us to live.  So early in life we begin to rebel against Him.  These body's we are encased in wreak with depravity and are so far from their potential.  It is often hard to believe (but I certainly do) that we humans are made in the image and likeness of God.  It is so easy to see our failure, weakness, depression, and sorrow.

Today I want to publicly acknowledge my thankfulness to Jesus Christ for creating, sustaining and preserving my littlest girl Grace.  She turns 1 today.  We had an incident a couple months ago where she got a penny lodged in her throat and she could have easily died.  Her life was spared from that.  What is truly amazing though is not that God spares us from accidents, but that His Grace is sufficient to spare us from the incredible wrath we earned for ourselves by not trusting and following Him.

Thank you Jesus for your great love and the grace which you constantly pour out on us.  We do not deserve it!  I do not deserve it!

I made an exciting discovery today in the vendor hall at VS Live.  SoftWIRE is here and I stopped by to talk to them about their tool.  I ran across it a couple years back when I was looking for tools to help teach my kids programming concepts.  They have a library of controls for programming Lego Mindstorm robots among many other things.  Now that the toolkit is free you can all afford to pick up a Mindstorms kit right!  I asked about some books to help me get started teaching the kids and what do you know they now have some teacher and student guides included with the SoftWIRE software.  I am looking forward to giving this one another look and getting my kids and others interested in programming.  I think I will stop back by their booth and pick up a few extra CD's for the user group.

Thanks SoftWIRE!

"...what if we turned the complexity discussion on its head and focused our efforts on managing simplicity?"
